Procedure[edit]
- You can request for copies of a death certificate in person at the Registry Office. Make sure that you bring a valid identification in case the registry officer will need to verify your identity.
- When you submit your request at the Registry Office make sure that you have provided these important details which will make searching for the record easier:
- names and surnames of the deceased
- place and date of birth
- place and date of death
- parents name
- Pay for the certificate.
- Your application will be processed immediately, and if the record can be found on the database the certificate may be issued on the same day.
If you are outside Nicaragua
You may use the link provided under "Office Locations & Contacts" to get in touch with the nearest Nicaraguan Embassy in the country you are currently staying. The Embassy's consular section will be able to help process your request to obtain a death certificate.
